Twenty-Three Years of Grudges, Finally Written Down

AFL franchise pages now carry an all-time record, single-game highlights, a top-five rivals list and a full trade ledger β€” plus a brand-new rivalry matrix showing what every franchise has done to every other one since 2004.

The Full Story

The AFL franchise page has spent its whole life showing you a trophy wall and a name history and then just… stopping. No record. No points. No sense of whether this franchise has been good for twenty years or good for one. That page now opens with the numbers: all-time record, win percentage, seasons played, career points, points per game, playoff appearances. Smokane FC, for the record, is 232-157 across 23 seasons with 46,022 points. That is a lot of football nobody could see until today.

Underneath it: Single-Game Highlights. Your best day ever, your worst day ever, and the two blowouts β€” the one you handed out and the one you took. Then Top Rivals, which is the part worth arguing about. It ranks opponents on how charged the series actually is, not just how often you played: an even record counts for more than a lopsided one, and playoff meetings count triple. Smokane's list is led by Fullybaked β€” 14-9 across 23 games with seven playoff meetings, which is more postseason history than most franchises have with anyone.

Every rival links to a full pairing page: the whole series in one table, every meeting since 2004, with closest game, biggest blowout, highest combined score and longest winning streak on top. Those pages know what round each playoff game was, too β€” Quarterfinal, Semifinal, AL and NL Conference Championships, NIT Championship, the whole ladder. And there is now a Rivalry Matrix under Franchises, split by conference, where you can read one franchise's record against all eleven of its conference-mates in a single row and see the hot pairings shaded red.

Last piece: the Trade Ledger. Every deal this franchise has ever made, grouped by year, with what went out, what came back, and the trade comment the owner typed at the time. Each partner links straight to your rivalry page with them, because a trade history and a grudge history are the same history.

One caveat when this shipped, since resolved: MFL's archived exports returned 2007-2019 with the regular-season matchups stripped, so head-to-head totals under-counted badly and leaned toward playoff games β€” Smokane's rivalry pages covered 233 of its 389 career games. Those seasons have since been recovered from MFL's authenticated schedule view and verified against the official standings, so every AFL season from 2004 on is now complete: Smokane's pages carry all 462 of its meetings. The one permanent gap is 2003, which the league played on Yahoo with only standings entered into MFL β€” no game from that season has a score anywhere, so it is missing from every rivalry record and always will be.
