Know Where You Are In Line
The AFL runs rolling waiver priority, which means every claim you file is really a bet on how many teams pick before you do. That number was on MyFantasyLeague and nowhere else. Now it's a button on Free Agents β your conference's order, live, with your team outlined and everyone ahead of you named.
The Full Story
Priority waivers are a queue, and a queue you can't see is just a rumour. You'd put in for a running back on Free Agents, feel reasonably good about it, and find out Monday night that four teams ahead of you felt reasonably good about him too. The number that decided all of it β where you sit in the order β lived on MyFantasyLeague, behind a login, on a page nobody opens on purpose.
So there's a Waiver priority button at the top of Free Agents now. It reads the order straight out of MyFantasyLeague when you open it, not from something we cached last Tuesday, because priority is rolling β win a claim and you drop to the back, which is rather the point of the system. Your team is outlined in the list. Everyone ahead of you is named.
It shows your conference and only your conference, and that's deliberate rather than lazy. The American and National leagues each roster their own copy of every player, so an American owner has never once competed with a National owner for a claim. MyFantasyLeague stores the two orders as one long list of 24, which means the National team sitting at number 13 is actually first in line β show anyone that raw number and you've told them a lie about their own odds.
Count the names above yours and you have your answer: that many players can be gone before your turn comes round, so line up at least one more target than that. Then file them from the same page β the Claim button is right there in every row, and the claims you've already filed sit just above the table.
