The Last Trip To MFL, Cancelled

Land on Free Agents without signing in and the acquire button used to fling you at MyFantasyLeague in a new tab, which is a strange thing for a site built to replace MyFantasyLeague to do. Now it opens a sign-in right there, and drops you back on the same page β€” on the same player β€” ready to bid.

The Full Story

There was one door left open to the old building. Every row on Free Agents carries a button to go get the player, and if you weren't signed in, that button was a deep link to MyFantasyLeague's add/drop page. New tab, second login, different UI, and your afternoon's research left behind in a tab you'd stopped looking at. Signed-in owners have been bidding in place since the start of the month; everyone else was still being shown the exit.

Now the button opens our own sign-in, right on top of the page you're already reading. Same MyFantasyLeague credentials β€” they go straight to MFL and we never keep your password β€” but you stay here. When it clears, the page comes back exactly where you left it, filters and all, and the bid form opens on the player you clicked in the first place. No hunting back through 600 free agents for the tight end you'd talked yourself into.

One thing still points at MyFantasyLeague on purpose: bidding during the offseason auction. That's MFL's own live auction, and signing in here wouldn't get you into it β€” so during auction season the link stays a link, and says so.
