Roger and Schefter Suit Up for AFL

Ask Roger now answers AFL rules questions in plain English, and Claude Schefter is filing transaction posts to the AFL GroupMe the moment a waiver clears. The AFL constitution stops being a thing you scroll through and starts being a thing you ask.

The Full Story

The AFL constitution used to be a 20-section HTML document you'd Cmd-F through whenever a question came up about NIT bonus math, the trade deposit, or whether your kicker has to start (he does). Meanwhile the GroupMe stayed quiet on transactions β€” no breaking news, no auction recaps, no one yelling about a waiver pickup at 9:01 PM. The AFL was running on a 2008 newsletter cadence in a 2026 league.

Ask Roger is now live at /afl-fantasy/rules-chat. He's read every conference, every division, every promotion/relegation clause, and the fine print about the $50 trade deposit that even the Commissioner forgets about. Ask him anything β€” "how does the NIT bonus work," "can I trade my 2027 first," "what happens if I miss the keeper deadline" β€” and he answers with citations to the actual constitution. Linked from the rules page, the main nav, and global search. Meanwhile Claude Schefter is now wired into the AFL GroupMe via his own bot, filing breaking news on trades, big-money auction wins, and waiver claims the moment they cross the wire.

The League has had both of these for months. AFL was the kid eating cold cereal while everyone else got pancakes. Not anymore.
