The Owners page for The League, headed β€œEvery owner The League has had β€” 17 current, 22 former. Franchise pages only show the CURRENT owner’s record, which left 110 seasons β€” including 7 championships and 25 division titles β€” with nowhere to live. This is where they live.” Below it a highlighted panel, β€œChampions you’ve never seen β€” these owners won The League and then left. Their titles appear on no franchise page”, holding six crested cards: Devil Dogs 2012, 2013 with 89-105 and two trophies, Amish Rakefighters 2015 at 84-76, Las Vegas Elite 2009 at 76-118, LBer-DeCleaters 2016 at 140-70, Sabertooths 2011 at 42-48 and Under Siege 2018 at 24-26, each with one trophy. Under a β€œCurrent owners” heading badged 17 sits a grid of owner cards β€” Bring The Pain since 2007 on franchise 0008, 196-138 (.587) over 19 seasons and 34,852 points, with trophy, division, MVP and Jerry Jones chips; then Dark Magicians of Chaos, Pacific Pigskins, Fire Ready Aim, Vitside Mafia, Wascawy Wabbits, Midwestside Connection, Gridiron Geeks and Running Down The Dream.

340 Seasons Just Got Their Owners Back

Every franchise page only ever showed you the current owner's work β€” which meant 340 franchise-seasons across the two leagues, 14 championships and 73 division titles among them, lived on no page at all. Owners is a page for every person who has ever run a team here, current and former, with the full record they actually earned.

The Full Story

Here is a thing nobody meant to build. Franchise pages are owner-scoped, and correctly so: when a team changes hands, the new owner does not inherit the old one's rings. Midwestside's owner should not be walking around with the Witch City Warlocks' 38-34 on their permanent record, and they aren't.

But the seasons that got subtracted had to go somewhere, and they didn't. They went nowhere. Add it up across both leagues and it is 340 franchise-seasons β€” 110 in The League, 230 in the AFL β€” that were played, scored, won and lost, and then rendered on precisely zero pages. Fourteen league championships in there. Seventy-three division titles. The Warlocks won a division in 2007 and until this week you could not find that anywhere on this site.

So: Owners. One page per owner, 128 of them, 87 of whom don't run a team here anymore. Their record, their playoff runs, their trophies, every team name they ever wore, and β€” because people move slots and share teams β€” the whole chain of who handed the franchise to whom.

The old "Former Identities" strip on the franchises page is the tell for how bad this was. Twenty-three historical team names in The League, ninety-five in the AFL, every one of them a link. Every one of them a link to nowhere useful, because the page they wanted to point at did not exist. All 118 now land on the owner who ran that team.

And each franchise page now ends with the people who had it before you. Their record on that slot, their seasons, their hardware, one click away. The record above it still belongs to whoever holds the team today. That was never the problem. The problem was that everything underneath it had been quietly deleted.
