Important Dates
- Owners who wish to continue ownership of their franchise must notify the Commish of their intent by March 1.
- An open recruitment period shall exist from March 1 through April 1 to fill all open ownership positions.
- League Dues are due April 1st
- July 15th is the deadline to select your 7 Keepers
- Trade Deadline is the Wednesday in between Week 10 and 11
- The Draft will be held sometime between Aug. 20 and Aug. 25 each year depending on what time works best for everyone.
- Super Bowl Sunday is the last day to move anyone from the IR to the active roster.
Replacement Owners
- If a team leaves the league, a new owner will be selected and will take over the team as is at that time, including rosters, keepers, draft picks, etc. All finances of the team will remain (thus no refunds to any owner leaving early). The Commish maintains a waiting list and will use this to find replacement owners. An owner may not sell or otherwise change the ownership of his/her team without Commish approval. If an owner wishes to leave, the team becomes property of the league and the Commish will find a new owner.
- In the event that two or more members leave the league. We will conduct a dispersal draft. The players and draft picks will be pooled together and the new owners will draft their team from this pool of players and draft picks.
Mission Statement
- The mission of the AFL (referred to as “the league”) is to conduct a game of fantasy football in a fun, friendly and competitive fashion while maintaining stable franchise ownership from season to season.
League Information

- The AFL is a 24 team, keeper league.
- Brandon Shields is the League Commissioner.
- The Franchise fee is $100.00 per team.
- Paypal fees will be $1 for every $25 of league dues sent.
- All times/dates posted are Pacific Standard Time unless otherwise noted.
Division Set up
- The League will consist of 2 conferences, 3 divisions per conference.
- Each division will consist of 4 teams.
- Each team within the division will play twice during the regular season.
Team Rosters
- Each team will have a maximum of 16 players on their active roster.
- Rosters may consist of any combination of the following positions; QB,RB,WR,TE,PK,DEF
- Each team may have 1 additional IR player on their roster from July 15th until Super Bowl Sunday.
Injured Reserve
- Only players listed as out or on the official IR list are eligible. Exceptions are allowed on a case by case basis
- From Super Bowl Sunday until July 15 no player may be on the IR. Teams must have a minimum starting lineup as they enter the "offseason" (i.e. teams with multiple players on IR cannot dump their kicker and defense to make room for those players; following the legalization of all rosters, teams are more than welcome to trade away kickers, defenses, or whatever for any positions and/or draft picks)

- Lineups lineups are be due at "game time" of the player involved.
- For teams that fail to submit a starting lineup, the previous weeks lineup will be used.
- Teams must submit a valid lineup each week. A valid lineup consist of no players on a bye or listed as out on the NFL injury report, if another option exists on your bench.
- Owners are expected to submit lineups weekly, in the event that an owner does not submit a lineup two consecutive weeks, or three times in a season the owner will be asked to surrender the franchise. If the owner chooses not to surrender the franchise, the owner must submit an explanation for the lack of activity to the commish. If the owner does not submit an explanation within one week, or the commish does not accept the explanation as a valid one, the owner will lose their rights to the franchise.
Trades
- All trades must be submitted through the league web site to be approved by the Commissioner.
- The Commissioner will approve or decline all trades and if warranted can require a team to pay a non-refundable $50 deposit towards the following season.
- All approved trades will be posted to the league web site via the transaction report.
- Trades may be offered from the conclusion of week 17 to the day before week 11 (typically a Wednesday, if Thursday games are played that week) of the following regular season.
- Teams trading any draft pick must make a non-refundable $50 deposit towards the following season.
- All trades must satisfy roster and/or draft pick limits prior to the trade being approved.
- Trade Deadline is the Wednesday in between Week 10 and 11
- Teams may trade future draft picks on year in advance.
- All teams are
required to have 9 draft picks, from the start of the draft to July 15 (Keeper
Deadline)
- From July 15
(Keeper Deadline) to draft day, teams are allowed to trade players for current
year draft picks. The requirement is that all teams have 16
players and/or draft picks.
- In the event that an owner fails to meet the keeper deadline, said owner will have their keeper limit reduced to 6 and will be given a compensatory draft pick at 9.13"
Free Agency and Waivers
- We use the rolling waiver system or "yahoo" style to determine the waiver order.
- The initial waiver wire order is the same as the "base" draft order from the previous year.
- Teams are allowed to add players via the waiver wire from Week 1 until Week 17.
- Teams submit requests from kickoff sunday until Wednesday at 9pm. Those requests are processed at 9pm Wednesday. Dropped players are locked until the next waiver period, which begins at the following Sunday kickoff. FCFS is allowed from 9pm Wednesday until the Sunday kickoff, and any player dropped in this period is also locked until the Sunday kickoff.
- First Come First Serve from draft day until the start of the regular season.
- All official deadlines can be found on the league calendar.
Draft
- The League will hold a draft annually. Only players not on a teams keeper list will be eligible to be selected in the draft.
- The draft will be 9 rounds and it will be NFL style. The base order
will be determined on prior year final week 13 standings. The Super Bowl winner will pick 12th. Any ties will be broken with the same rules as the AFL wild card tiebreakers.
- During the NIT teams can potentially earn a higher draft pick, each team is awarded points based on their base draft position. The team with the worst record gets 12 points to start all the way down to the conference champion down at 1 point.
- The top 5 finishers in the NIT will receive
an additional 1.5pts. The 1st round will then be reordered based on the amount of points each team finishes with.
The team with the higher original draft position will win the higher draft position in the event of any ties.

Keepers
- Teams will keep 7 players each year and must cut their roster town each offseason by July 15th

Schedule
- Each franchise will play an 18 game schedule.
- Division Opponents twice and the rest of the league once.
- Doubleheaders weeks 1,2,11,12, & 13.
- Division Games weeks 1,2,10,11,12, & 13
League Scoring
Scoring Errors
- Owners must notify the Commissioner via email of any scoring error upon discovery. The Commissioner
will resolve any scoring error disputes. Owners have until Wednesday 9pm to submit a scoring dispute. At
this time the Commissioner will notify all teams that are involved in the scoring dispute.
- The league's web site provider (My Fantasy League) will be the system of record for NFL stats.
- If the scoring error warrants correction and it affects the outcome of that match up the Commissioner will
will communicate this to the entire league and make the proper changes to correct the error.

- If a regular season game ends in a tie it will remain as a tie.

- In the event a game ends in a tie in the either set of playoffs, the following criteria will be used.
- #1 highest scoring bench player
- #2 most starting kicker points

- #4 better Regular Season Power Rank
- #5 most total points scored
- #6 coin flip

Playoff Structure
The entire league will be broken up into 2 groups:
League Championships
- The 3 division winners and 1 wildcard team per conference will make the playoffs, for a total of 8 playoff teams.
- The 2 wild cards are awarded to the team with the best remaining W-L record in each conference.
- The 4 NL and 4 AL playoff teams will then be seeded 1-4 based on their final regular season power rank.
- The winner of the AL will play the winner of the NL for the World Championship

Amendments and Changes to the Constitution
- Any vote taken by the league to change the rules requires a 75% vote to pass (18 out of 24).
- Any vote taken by the league to change the rules between July 15th and Week 17 requires a 100% vote to take effect immediately.
- If a vote taken between July 15th and Week 17 receives 75% or more but less than 100% it will take effect the following season.
- Whenever possible changes to league rules will be voted on between the current years trading deadline and the end of the week 17.
- Abstentions will be considered "Yes" votes.
- All poll votes will be final 5 days after they begin.
- Any unforeseen rule situation not specifically covered in the constitution will be determined by the league commish.
